Shooting guard Rafa Martinez and Valencia Basket made official on Wednesday a new contract extension between both parties. Martinez (1.90 meters, 36 years old) will remain with Valencia until the end of the 2018-19 season, which will mark his 11th straight season wearing the team's signature orange uniform. Last season, Martinez averaged 6.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 29 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague appearances with Valencia, 13 of them as a starter. Martinez is the only player in Valencia history to have lifted four trophies with the team, including the 2010 and 2014 7DAYS EuroCup and the 2017 Spanish League titles. Among several club records for longevity, he is Valencia's all-time top scorer with 5,482 points. Martinez is also the EuroCup player with most games played (132) and most three-pointers made (215) ever, as well as the competition's second-best scorer all-time (1,200 points). Martinez arrived at Valencia Basket in 2008 and he is now just 54 games away from the player who has had the most appearances in the orange jersey, Victor Luengo (643).
