ASVEL signs young Maledon for 3 years
One of the most promising young players of his generation, point guard Theo Maledon, is staying put with ASVEL Villeurbanne for the first three years of his pro career, the club announced Monday. Maledon (1.92 meters, 17 years old) already made his 7DAYS EuroCup and French League debuts last season at age 16. He has played in Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournaments since 2015 and won the continental U18 title as a 15-year-old starter for CFBB Paris in 2017. Last winter, playing for U18 ASVEL, he posted 28.5 points and 7.0 assists per game for ASVEL at the 2017-18 L'Hospitalet qualifying tournament. Maledon averaged 15.7 points and 5.1 assists for ASVEL's junior team last season, as well.
