Miles shoots his way into history in Limoges victory

Limoges CSP brought Isaiah Miles in this past summer to serve as a stretch floor and he put his abilities on full display on Tuesday night in a victory over visiting Tofas Bursa. Making his third appearance of his first EuroCup season, the 24-year old forward finished the night with 23 points and 7 rebounds, but the story of the night was his perfect 6-of-6 three-point shooting.

"I have to commend my teammates who were looking for me," Miles said humbly in his post-game comments. "They were able to swing the ball to me when I was open, and I was able to capitalize and knock down the shots."

Little was he aware, however, that he entered a very select group of players thanks to his shooting performance because only one player in competition history has made more triples without a miss in a single game. That record-holder is Alex King who shot 7 for 7 in leading s.Oliver Baskets Wurzburg to a road win over Azovmash Mariupol in December 2012. Nine other times before last night have players gone 6-of-6 from long range and not once since February 2016. The player who did it last was Dwight Hardy, who is now a teammate of Miles with Limoges. Intriguingly enough, Hardy was 4 for 4 from downtown last night.

While Miles and Hardy combined to make 10 of 10 triples, the rest of the team shot 3 for 18. But big man Miles's shooting was enough to open up all kinds of room for center Samardo Samuels to operate down low. Samuels was dominant, collecting 15 points and 11 rebounds, including 6 on the offensive glass, and gave a nice balance to the Limoges offense in this important victory.
