Dounna Issa - BCM GravelinesLe Mans Sarthe Basket continued putting together a group of core players to stay together in the upcoming seasons. On Saturday, Le Mans announced the arrival of Dounna Issa, as well as inking Kevin Mendy to his first professional contract. Issa (1.98 meters, 31 years old) arrives from BCM Gravelines, where he averaged 3.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 12 Eurocup games last season. In his two seasons with Gravelines, Issa helped the team to win the Semaine des As title in 2011 and become the 2011-12 French League regular season champion. He has also played for JA Vichy Val d'Allier Auvergne basket, Stade Clermontois Basket Auvergne and Toulouse Asvec in France, as well as being a member of the French national team. Issa has also made to two other Semaine des As title games - with Vichy in 2008 and with Gravelines with season. He penned a two-year deal with Le Mans. Mendy (2.00 meters, 19 years old) already played in the Eurocup last season, averaging 0.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in 5 games. He has been a member of the French U18, U18, U20 and U21 national teams. Mendy helped France to win a bronze medal at the 2011 U20 European Championships played in Bilbao, Spain.
