Dario Saric - KK Zagreb CO, 2011 Rome NIJTOne of the most promising players in world basketball is set to make his Eurocup debut this season, as Gescrap Bilbao Basket announced the arrival of versatile forward Dario Saric, who inked a five-year deal with the Spanish powerhouse on Tuesday night. Saric (2.07 meters, 18 years old) arrives from KK Zagreb Croatia Osiguranje, where he averaged 2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 4 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. He boosted his numbers up to 14.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.7 steals and a block in 12 Croatian League games. Saric has been a dominant force at youth levels. He led Zagreb to win the 2011 Nike International Junior Tournament held in Barcelona, Spain. He registered a triple double - 19 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists - in the title game against Zalgiris and had a 26-point, 16-rebound effort in the previous game against Fenerbahce Ulker. Saric returned to the NIJT this season, averaging 25.3 points, 15.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.3 steals, drawing 38 fouls in 3 games. Saric also led Croatia to win the 2010 U16 European Championships, earning MVP honors. Saric will now continue his outstanding career in Bilbao.
