Cholet Basket inks swingman Mason

Anthony Mason Jr. (Photo: Basket signed Anthony Mason Jr. to a one-year contract, the club announced Wednesday. Mason (2.01 meters, 25 years old), whose father of the same name was a basketball star in the United States, will make his European basketball debut with the French powerhouse. He spent most of the past two seasons playing in the NBA D-League with Sioux Falls. Last season he averaged 17.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3 assists over 45 games. Over the summer he helped Al Hala from Bahrain reach the final of the GCC Champions Cup. Mason enjoyed a successful college basketball career at St. John's University in New York. He finished his college career ranked sixth all-time on the Red Storm's career three-point shooting list with 120 triples.
