Whitehead had to work overtime to get Lokomotiv tough win

Isaiah Whitehead made sure that Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar would remain undefeated on the road this season in the 7DAYS EuroCup with a huge overtime in his team's win at Tofas Bursa. Whitehead tallied 9 of his career-high 24 points in the extra frame as Lokomotiv won 99-105 to improve to 7-1 in Group B and 4-0 on the road. Add a basket and 2 free throws late in the fourth quarter and it was 13 points in the final 6:38 minutes of the game for Whitehead, who also recorded 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block.

Whitehead's previous scoring high was 17 points against Arka Gdynia in February 2018. He also evened his best rebound showing from the same game and the 23-year-old's performance index rating of 25 topped the 17 from the game at Gdynia.

One of the only miscues for Whitehead late in the game was his missing a potential game-winner just before the buzzer of regulation. But the guard, who is playing his first season in Europe, took over in overtime, hitting two straight layups from the left side and then knocking down a jumper to push the lead to 96-102 with 37 seconds left, which all but clinched the win.
