Brescia's Ceron stable after cranial surgery

Shooting guard Marco Ceron of Germani Brescia Leonessa was in stable condition the day after suffering a severe head injury during an Italian League game on Sunday. Marco Ceron, 26 years old, underwent more than two hours of emergency cranial reconstruction surgery on Monday. He had collided with Mam Jaiteh of fellow 7DAYS EuroCup team Fiat Turin while going for a rebound in the first half of their teams' Italian League game on Sunday. Neurosurgeons at the Spedali Civili hospital in Brescia said that post-operative CT scans were positive although Ceron remains in guarded condition.

Ceron made his EuroCup debut this season and played in seven of Brescia's eight games so far, averaging 5 points and 1.4 rebounds over 10 minutes per game. He is playing his first season in Brescia following previous stops in Pesaro, Napoli and his native Venice, among other teams.

Euroleague Basketball extends its sincerest wishes to Marco for a smooth and full recovery.
