Finals matchups: San Emeterio vs. Giedraitis at small forward

One of the head-to-head matchups to keep an eye on in the 7DAYS EuroCup Finals starting on April 9 is at small forward, where Fernando San Emeterio's veteran experience is a huge plus for Valencia Basket, while ALBA Berlin has a scoring machine at its disposal in 26-year-old Rokas Giedraitis.

Fernando San Emeterio: Valencia

Valencia's experienced small forward, a former All-EuroLeague selection, is as hungry as anyone in this year's EuroCup Finals. San Emeterio played two EuroCup Finals – with Akasvayu Girona in 2008 and Valencia in 2017 – but is still looking for its first crown. Despite missing seven games due to injury, San Emeterio's contribution has increased as the season progressed. He averaged 7.9 points in the regular season, 9.5 in the Top 16, 10.5 in the quarterfinals and 11.5 in the semis. He is also shooting the ball really well (57.1% 2FG, 40.6% 3FG, 86.2% FT) this season.

Rokas Giedraitis: ALBA

Delivering since he joined ALBA to start the season, Giedraitis has been one of the team's leaders all the way. He is the fourth-best scorer in the entire EuroCup at 14.8 points per game, and has reached double digits in scoring in his last 10 EuroCup games. He ranks 10th in the EuroCup in performance index rating (16.2) and is tied for sixth in steals (1.6 spg.). He also grabs 4.3 rebounds per game. Giedraitis is a slasher and a top-class catch-and-shoot scorer whose percentages are almost identical to San Emeterio's (56.9% 2FG, 40.2% 3FG, 86.4% FT).
