An emotional Will Thomas was named MVP of the 7DAYS EuroCup Finals after playing a strong and consistent role in leading Valencia Basket to the title. Thomas contributed 15 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in Valencia's Game 3 rout of ALBA Berlin to capture the club's fourth and the big man's first EuroCup crown. He was Valencia's top scorer and MVP of Game 1 of the series with 22 points with just 5 missed shots plus 6 rebounds. Thomas led all players in the finals in scoring with 17.3 points per game and in performance index rating at 21.3. He was remarkably efficient by shooting 72.0% on two-pointer and making 4 three-pointers from 6 tries behind the arc (66.7%). Thomas was also worth 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the three-game series.
Thomas, 32, is in his third season with Valencia and his second in the EuroCup. He averaged 11.8 points and 3.7 rebounds over EuroCup 23 games this season, including 16 as a starter. Thomas has also played three seasons in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague – two with Unicaja Malaga and one with Valencia.
