Segafredo Virtus Bologna kept one of its own players to help with the challenges of the new season, extending power forward Filippo Baldi Rossi for two more years, the club announced on Wednesday. Baldi Rossi (2.07 meters, 28 years old), who grew up with Virtus as a teenager, has been with the club professionally since November 2017. Last season he posted 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in the Italian League and 3.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in the Basketball Champions League. Baldi Rossi started playing basketball with Virtus and was part of the club's youth categories from 2005 to 2010. During his professional career, he has also played for Perugia, Turin and Dolomiti Energia Trento, spending more than four seasons with the latter before returning to Virtus. Baldi Rossi made his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Trento during the 2015-16 season, averaging 8.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals before an injury ended his season in February of that season, while Trento went on to reach the EuroCup Semifinals. Baldi Rossi will now have another go in the competition with Virtus.
