Asseco Arka brings back center Hrycaniuk

One of the best Polish big men of all-time is back with Asseco Arka Gdynia; the club announced a deal with Adam Hrycaniuk on Wednesday. Hrycaniuk (2.06 meters, 35 years old) arrives from Stelnet Zielona Gora, where he played the last six seasons. He averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 39 Polish League games last season. Hrycaniuk started his career with Komfort Kronoplus Stargard Szczecinski and also played for Trinity Valley Junior College and the University of Cincinnati before joining Asseco Prokom Sopot in 2008. He played for Prokom until 2013, when he briefly joined Spanish powerhouse Valencia Basket.

Hrycaniuk has won seven Polish League titles - four with Prokom between 2009 and 2012, and three with Zielona Gora between 2015 and 2017. He also lifted the Polish Cup with Zielona Gora in 2015 and 2017. Hrycaniuk helped Prokom reach the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs in 2010 and also made it to the EuroCup Quarterfinals with Zielona Gora in 2016. He has been a regular member of the Polish national team for over a decade, too. In three EuroCup seasons and 26 games with Zielona Gora, Hrycaniuk has accumulated 126 points (4.8 ppg.) and 86 rebounds (3.3 rpg.).
