ratiopharm Ulm added another new player to its roster, none other than small forward Patrick Heckmann, who inked a two-year deal with the German powerhouse on Tuesday. Heckmann (1.98 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Brose Bamberg, where he averaged 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 33 German League games last season. He helped Bamberg win the German Cup title and reach the Basketball Champions League final four. Bamberg had been his only professional team until now, right after finishing his college career at Boston College in 2015. He helped Bamberg win back-to-back German League titles in 2016 and 2017, as well as lifting another German Cup trophy in 2017. Heckmann has also been a member of the German national team. Heckmann has played three Turkish Airlines EuroLeague campaigns with Bamberg and is set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Ulm next season. "I want to prove myself in Ulm that I can still play at the level I am expected," Heckmann said after the agreement. "I am looking forward t playing in the EuroCup. It is clearly the second-best European competition. It just felt right to me and I think I can continue to develop here in the next two years."
