Nanterre brings back shooting guard Butterfield

Nanterre 92 added firepower to its roster by signing shooting guard Spencer Butterfield to a one-year deal, the club announced Friday. Butterfield (1.90 meters, 26 years old) started last season with Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia, where he averaged 15.8 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals in four Italian League games. He left the club in December to recover from a foot injury and did not play again last season. Butterfield returns to Nanterre, where he spent the 2016-17 season and tallied 12.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 33 French League games. He helped Nanterre win the French Cup and the FIBA Europe Cup in 2017. Butterfield started his career with Melilla Baloncesto of Spain and also played for Juventus Utena of Lithuania and ALBA Berlin of Germany. This will be his second 7DAYS EuroCup campaign; Butterfield played the first with ALBA and averaged 12.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11 games in the 2017-18 season.
