Italian League champion Umana Reyer Venice bolstered its frontcourt by signing power forward Ike Udanoh to a one-year deal. Udanoh (2.03 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Sidigas Avellino, where he averaged 12.2 points and 8.3 rebounds in 16 Italian League games last season. He started the 2018-19 season with another Italian club, Red October Cantu, for which he posted 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in 18 Italian League games before joining Avellino. Udanoh started his career with Larre Borges of Uruguay and also played for Al Ahli Sports Club Doha of Qatar, WBC Raiffeisen Wels of Austria, Nilan Bisons Loimaa and Tapiolan Honka of Finland, Bondi Ferrara and Dinamica Generale Mantovana of Italy, Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket of France and Astana of Kazakhstan, which he helped to a domestic league and cup double in 2018.
"I am excited to be part of Umana Reyer and I thank the club for the opportunity," Udanoh said. "It is exciting to play in Venice and for a big club like Reyer. I have only heard great things about this organization. I look forward to joining the team, contributing and helping continue the construction of the winning culture Umana Reyer has already started for years. It will be important for me to continue to improve, but above all to help the team be even more competitive."
