Reyer signs big man Pellegrino

Umana Reyer Venice strengthened its frontcourt by inking center Francesco Pellegrino to a one-year deal, the club announced Monday. Pellegrino (2.10 meters, 28 years old) arrives from GSA Amici Pallacanestro Udine, where he averaged 7.6 points and 6.0 rebounds in 34 Italian League games last season. He started his career with Basket Gela and played for other Italian teams such as Banca Nuova Trapani, Orlandina Basket, Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, La Briosa Barcellona and Bondi Ferrara. "For me, it is a great opportunity, to be able to become a part of this group. I really can't wait to start working," Pellegrino said. "I am ready and want to give my best for the team and try to get as much playing time as possible by being humble and working hard. At age 28, playing for the Italian League champion is an important moment in my career, so I am here to take advantage of this great opportunity."
