Dolomiti Energia Trento signed small forward Alessandro Gentile to a two-year deal on Thursday. Gentile (2.00 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Movistar Estudiantes, where he averaged 15.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 22 Spanish League games last season. He started his career with Benetton Treviso and made his EuroCup debut in the 2009-10 season. A year later, Gentile took Benetton to the 2011 EuroCup Semifinals before losing to Cajasol Seville. He went on to play for AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan and Virtus Bologna of Italy, Panathinaikos Athens of Greece and Hapoel Jerusalem of Israel. He helped Milan win the Italian League and Cup double in 2016 and lifted the Greek Cup with Panathinaikos in 2017. Gentile, whose father Nando was a EuroLeague champion with Panathinaikos in 2000, has also been a regular with the Italian national team. He helped Italy win a silver medal at the 2011 U20 European Championships. Gentile has played a total of four EuroCup campaigns with Benetton and Milan and has averaged 9.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in 29 games.
