Germani Brescia Leonessa bolstered its lineup by signing point guard Travis Trice, who was formally introduced by the club at a press conference on Thursday. Trice (1.83 meters, 26 years old) arrives from SIG Strasbourg, for which he averaged 11.1 points and 3.6 assists in 16 French League games this season. This is his second season in Europe; he joined Tofas Bursa in time for the Turkish League playoffs last season. Trice has also played two seasons in Australia, with Cairns and Brisbane, and part of another in Lebanon with Champville, as well as for Westchester, Wisconsin and Austin the G-League. Brescia is 1-1 in Group F of the Top 16.
"Being in Brescia represents a great opportunity for me," Trice said on Thursday. "I am here to help the team continue with the results already achieved in the Italian championship and the EuroCup so far. I want to thank the club for bringing me here and giving me this opportunity. I am very happy to be in Brescia and I hope to help the team continue with the good results."
"Trice is a player who trained at a top-level university. He is young, but has already taken part in quality leagues in Australia and Europe," Coach Vincenzo Esposito said. "I don't think he will need much time to understand where he is. He has completely different characteristics from the players we already have, with different technical and athletic skills compared to those of the other two players in that position. This will allow us to have more physical energy available during games and to be able to alternate, even in the current season, our style of play, especially on the offensive level."
