Unicaja Malaga reached an agreement with small forward Axel Bouteille to work together until the end of the 2021-22 season, the club announced Tuesday. Bouteille (2.01 meters, 24 years old) arrives from RETAbet Bilbao Basket, where he averaged 17.7 points on 47.8% three-point shooting and 3.8 rebounds in 21 Spanish League games this season. He played the 2018-19 7DAYS EuroCup with Limoges CSP, averaging 12.1 points on 48.5% three-point shooting and 3.9 rebounds in 16 games. Bouteille, however, will not be able to help Unicaja in the EuroCup this season, as he arrived to the team after the signings' deadline. He started his career with Chalon-sur-Saone, where he played until 2017, joining Limoges for the next two seasons. Bouteille helped Chalon win the French League title in 2017. He has also been a member of the French national team.
