Buducnost extends Cobbs through 2022
Buducnost VOLI Podgorica and point guard Justin Cobbs penned a contract that will keep them together through the end of the 2021-22 season, the club announced Friday. Cobbs (1.91 meters, 29 years old) averaged 15.4 points in nine 7DAYS EuroCup games last season while leading the competition in assists (7.3 apg.) and ranking fourth in performance index rating (19.9 per game). He helped Buducnost win the Montenegrin Cup, too. Cobbs started his career with VEF Riga of Latvia and has also played for Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt and FC Bayern Munich of Germany, Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi of Turkey, BCM Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral and Le Mans Sarthe Basket of France, and Cedevita Zagreb of Croatia. He helped Le Mans win the French League in 2018 and lifted the Croatian Kresimir Cosic Cup with Cedevita in 2019. Cobbs has been a member of the Montenegrin national team. In 39 EuroCup career games with VEF, Bayern, Cedevita and Buducnost, Cobbs has amassed 427 points (10.9 ppg.) and 178 assists (4.6 apg.).
