Umana Reyer Venice and guard Bruno Cerella signed a contract that will keep the sides together for a fourth season, the club announced Sunday. Cerella (1.94 meters, 33 years old) joined Reyer early in the 2017-18 season and has helped the team win three titles - the FIBA EuroCup in 2018, the Italian League in 2019 and the Italian Cup in 2020. He averaged 2.6 points per game in the 7DAYS EuroCup last season. Born in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, Cerella has played in Italy throughout his entire professional career. He started with Basket Agnese and has also played for Levoni Potenza, Banca Tercas Teramo, Assigeco BPL Lodi, Cimberio Varese and AX Armani Exchange Milan before joining Reyer. He helped Milan win two Italian League titles in 2014 and 2016, and also lifted the Italian Cup trophy twice with that team in 2016 and 2017. Cerella has also been a member of the Italian national team.
“I am happy to continue this path together with a winning club and a spectacular working group. I am very pleased that the club is choosing continuity and intends to bring back many of the teammates with whom I have already shared much and won. This aspect is very important to me and it affected my desire to return to Umana Reyer, which I thank for the trust and esteem it has for me," Cerella said. "I hope to have fun with the fans and that Palasport can be full soon because basketball is played for the people. I am very pleased to have created friendship ties in Venice that go beyond the athlete-fan relationship. They are important pillars to my personal emotional life."
