Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar signed one of the top prospects in Italian basketball, Abramo Canka, to a four-year deal, the club announced Saturday. Canka (1.99 meters, 18 years old) arrives from the Stellazzura Rome academy, with which he has competed in the adidas Next Generation Tournament in each of the past four seasons. He led Stellazzura to the championship game of the ANGT – Munich event last season and was named to the all-tournament team after posting 16.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game. He also played for Roseto in the Italian second division last season where he was worth 7.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Canka has played for the Italian U-16 national team, too.
