ratiopharm Ulm reached a new agreement with playmaker Per Guenther to keep working together next season, the club announced Tuesday. Guenther (1.84 meters, 32 years old) started his career with Phoenix Hagen, joined Ulm in 2008 and is still playing there. As such, the 2020-21 campaign will be his 13th season with Ulm. He averaged 4.3 points and 1.8 assists in eight 7DAYS EuroCup games last season. In 80 EuroCup career games with Ulm, Guenther has amassed 568 points (7.1 ppg.) and 257 assists (3.2 apg.), hitting 40.8% (97-of-238) of his three-point shots. Over the years, Guenther helped Ulm reach the German League finals in 2012 and 2016, as well as reaching the German Cup championship game in 2013 and 2014. "I feel as fit as I have in a long time and see no reason to stop," Guenther said after the agreement. "My game was always based on the fact that I can pass my opponents when they are too close to me. Due to injuries, I was no longer able to do this. Now that works again and I hope it stays that way for a while. We have had many good years, and when things don't look as rosy, that's no reason for me to sign anywhere else."
