Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul reached an agreement with playmaker Ismet Akpinar, who signed a contract with the Turkish powerhouse on Saturday. Akpinar (1.93 meters, 25 years old) arrives from FC Bayern Munich, where he averaged 3.0 points and 1.5 assists in 3 German end-of-season tournament games. He started the 2019-10 campaign with Besiktas Sompo Japan Istanbul, averaging 10.9 points on 94.8% free throw shooting and 2.3 assists in 20 Turkish League games before joining Bayern. Akpinar, whose brother Mutlu also played in the 7DAYS EuroCup, started his career with Hamburg Tigers and played for other German teams such as SC Rist Wedel, ALBA Berlin and ratiopharm Ulm before joining Besiktas in 2019. He helped ALBA win a German Cup title in 2016, and has been a member of the German national team. In 57 EuroCup career games with ALBA and Ulm, Akpinar has averaged 6.0 points and 1.5 assists.
