Promitheas Patras strengthened its frontcourt by signing Mouhammad Faye, the club announced Friday. Faye (2.07 meters, 34 years old) arrives from Crvena Zvezda mta Belgrade, where he averaged 4.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 12 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. He already played the EuroCup with Zvezda, averaging 8.0 points and 6.8 rebounds in the 2018-19 season. Faye played for Promitheas in the 2017-18 campaign, averaging 12.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in 30 Greek League games. He started his professional basketball career with Rio Grande of the D-League and has also played for Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket of France, Ikaros Kallitheas, Panelefsianakos AOK Eleusina and AGO Rethymno Aegean of Greece, Pallacanestro Varese of Italy and Sagesse Al-Hekmek Beirut of Lebanon. Faye has also been a member of the Senegalese national team, to which he helped win respectuve bronze medals at AfroBasket 2013 and 2017. Faye helped Zvezda win the Adriatic League and the Serbian League titles in 2019.
