Lokomotiv invests in future with homegrown Emchenko
Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar signed a long-term deal with young point guard Vladislav Emchenko, the club announced on Saturday. A five-year deal is a first professional contract for Emchenko (1.98 meters, 20 years old) who spent the last two seasons playing simultaneously with Lokomotiv's second team and club's youth team. Last season he averaged 9.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in the Russian second division while posting 13.7 points, 4.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds in VTB Youth League. Emchenko has also been a member of Russian national team youth categories and now is set to make his EuroCup debut. "Vladislav is a versatile player, the main point guard of the Loko youth team", Lokomotiv head coach Evgeny Pashutin said. "He is physically strong and a very promising player, and we are all very glad that he is now in the main team and he will have a chance to show his best qualities."
