Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana added some firepower to its team with the signing of Rion Brown for the coming season, the club announced Friday. Brown (1.97 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Tofas Bursa, where he averaged 12.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in three 7DAYS EuroCup games last season as well as 13.8 points on 43.2% three-point shooting, 4.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.0 steals in five Turkish League games.
Brown started the 2019-20 campaign with Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and he collected 6.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in eight Greek League campaigns while totalling 3 points and 2 rebounds in 13 minutes of five Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games. Brown played college basketball at the University of Miami and split his first professional season between Hapoel Tel Aviv of Israel and Basic Fit Brussels of Belgium. He stayed another season at Brussels before helping Kataja win the 2017 Finnish League title and moving on to JDA Dijon of France the next year. In 2018-19, Brown helped Promitheas Patras reach the Greek League finals.
