To celebrate its upcoming 7DAYS EuroCup debut, Turkish club Frutti Extra Bursaspor has chosen well-known former pro Tutku Acik to take his first steps as a head coach with the club during the 2020-21 season. Acik, 39, was promoted from the assistant's job he held last season with the club. He had begun his coaching career as an assistant with Galatasaray in 2018-19. Previous to that, Acik enjoyed a 20-year professional career that included six seasons in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and four in the EuroCup. A solid backup guard, Acik averaged 3.8 points and 1.5 assists over 97 EuroLeague games between 2001 and 2013, four of those with Ulker and one each with Galatasaray and Besiktas. In the EuroCup, his averages were 6.6 points and 3.7 assists between 2007 and 2011, when he played three seasons with Turk Telekom and one with Galatasaray. He won the Turkish League with Ulker in 2001 and the national and president's cups nine times with Ulker and Turk Telekom. He was also a regular member of the Turkish national team.
