Virtus announces dismissal of Djordjevic

On the eve of the resumption of the 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season, the only undefeated team in the competition, Virtus Segafredo Bologna, has fired head coach Aleksandar Djordjevic, the club announced on Monday evening. The move comes despite the club's 7-0 record in regular season Group C, which has already qualified the team for the Top 16. Over the weekend, Virtus suffered a home loss in the Italian League, where the team has a 5-4 record, tied with three other teams for third place. The club's announcement was as follows:

"Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna s.p.a. announces that it has relieved Mr. Aleksandar Djordjevic, the first assistant coach Goran Bjedov, and the physical trainer Mladen Mihajlovic from the positions of technical manager of the first team. The club thanks the coach and all the technical staff for their commitment and dedication to date. The technical management of the team is currently entrusted to Assistant Coach Cristian Fedrigo."
