AS Monaco strengthened its roster for the stretch run of the 7DAYS EuroCup season with the addition of guard Courtney Fortson, just before the deadline to register new players. Fortson (1.78 meters, 32 years old) arrives from China, where he played for the Sichuan Blue Whales in 2019-20. He played 30 games there and averaged 27.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists in almost 36 minutes per game. This will be his second stint in the EuroCup after averaging 13.8 points, 5.8 assists and 1.8 steals in 18 games for Banvit Bandirma in 2015-16,w hen he helped the team reach the eighthfinals.
Fortson played college basketball at the University of Arkansas from 2008 to 2010 and since then he's played in several countries including Romania, Turkey, Russia, Venezuela and the NBA. He was named MVP of the Russian Superleague in 2014 playing for Avtodor Saratov and also earned several accolades in the Chinese League in 2018 including International MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
