Boulogne Metropolitans 92, undefeated leader of Group F of the 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16, has added experience to its frontcourt by inking center Josh Owens just prior to the signing deadline for the remainder of the season. Owens (2.06 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul of Turkey, with whom he played seven regular season games in the EuroCup, averaging 8.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 26 minutes per game. Owens had previously played in the EuroCup for Umana Reyer Venice, in the 2015-16 season, and for Tofas Bursa, in the 2017-18 season. His career averages are 9.1 points and 4.8 rebounds over 33 EuroCup games. In a nine-year professional career, he has also played for Idaho of the G League, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem of Israel, Trento and Reggio Emilia of Italy, and Pinar Karsiyaka of Turkey.
The signing of Owens came one day after Metropolitans announced that center Miralem Halilovic will miss the rest of the EuroCup season with a broken jaw. Halilovic suffered the injury over the weekend in a French League game after being punched and will require surgery. Halilovic had averaged 3.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in 16 minutes per EuroCup game in the regular season, but boosted his scoring to 10.1 points in 20 minutes over his two Top 16 appearances before the injury.
