Just a few weeks ahead of the start to the 2021-22 season, Boulogne Metropolitans 92 found a new head coach in veteran Vincent Collet, who signed a two-year deal with the club, as was announced on Wednesday. Collet, 58, is a veteran of the French benches and also the current boss at the French national team. His coaching career started in 1998 as an assistant in Le Mans, where he was promoted to head coach in 2000. He was there until 2008, winning the 2006 French League in the process. After that, he was in ASVEL until 2010, winning also the 2009 French League. His last team was Strasbourg, where he coached until 2019. He also won several other French titles during those years and was named Coach of the Year in France in 2001, 2004, 2015 and 2016. In 2016, Collet led Strasbourg to its first 7DAYS EuroCup final, as the team was the first French squad to accomplish such goal. His latest success was the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics this past summer.
