After helping one Russian Federation team reach the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, veteran forward Vadim Panin will try again with another in the qualifying rounds after signing to play for Unics Kazan the next two seasons. Panin (2.03 meters, 30 years old) was a starter most of last season for Nizhny Novgorod, which finished as a Eurocup semifinalist and finalist in the VTB United League. He averaged 9.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 22 Eurocup games, ranking among the top five assist-makers at forward. Panin had spent a season before with Unics Kazan, in 2006-07, seeing limited time in the Eurocup. He returned to the competition with BC Triumph Lyubertsy in 2009-10 to average 6.5 points in two appearances. He made his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut the next season, seeing limited time with Khimki Moscow Region. His entire career has been spent in his native Russia with stops also in Dynamo Moscow, Rostov, Ural Great and Vladivostok.
