Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul has a new floor general in its backcourt, after signing veteran point guard Bobby Dixon to a two-year contract on Tuesday. Dixon (1.78 meters, 32 years old) is coming off a fantastic season for both him and his now former club Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir, season during which he led the team to its first-ever Eurocup quarterfinals appearance and to the first Turkish League title in 28 years. Dixon was selected to the All-Eurocup second team leading the competition with 62 three-pointers made and 39 steals. He ranked third in index rating (18.8 PIR), he was ranked fourth with 16.8 points per game after scoring in double digits in all of his 20 games, and he was ninth with 5.2 assist per contest. On the way to the Turkish League title, Dixon helped Karsiyaka eliminate Fenerbahce in the playoff semifinals, and beat Anadolu Efes Istanbul in the finals. During the 42-game campaign, point guard averaged 17.3 points, 4.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals. Dixon spent last three seasons with Karsiyaka, and previously in his career experienced playmaker also played with St.Etienne, Gravelines, Le Mans, Dijon and Asvel Villeurbanne in France, Polpak Swiecie in Poland, as well as Benetton and Brindisi in Italy.
