In an effort to keep the core of last season’s Polish League runner-up squad together heading into the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds, PGE Turow Zgorzelec re-signed Australian big man Daniel Kickert for the coming season. Kickert (2.08 meters, 28 years old) joined Turow midway through last season and averaged 9.3 points and 2.8 rebounds over 25 games. Though he came off the bench for most of the season, Kickert moved into the starting lineup for the Polish league finals and produced 13.6 points and 4.9 boards in the seven-game series as Turow nearly upset Asseco Prokom for the title. Kickert has previous experience in Europe with Gran Canaria and Leche Rio Breogan in Spain and Livorno in Italy. Kickert has also played for the Australian national team in the past.
