Fresh off qualifying for the 2019 Final Four in Vitoria-Gasteiz, defending champ Real Madrid announced on Thursday that team captain Felipe Reyes will play with the team one more season until June of 2020. Reyes (2.03 meters, 39 years old) has played 14 straight seasons with Real Madrid and he also became the player to have played the most Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games, 344, last month. During all those games, Reyes has pulled 1,780 rebounds, also the most ever in the league, and he is also only 8 points short of becoming the third play ever to surpass the 3,000-point mark. With Real Madrid, Reyes has won the EuroLeague two times in 2015 and 2018, a EuroCup in 2007, an Intercontinental Cup in 2015 and was also named to the All-EuroLeague First Team in 2015. He was also a gold medalist with Spain in the 2006 World Championship and won three EuroBaskets (2003, 2005 and 2007), among other accolades. Reyes started his EuroLeague career with Estudiantes Madrid and he remains the only active player in the league to have played in the inaugural season of 2000-01.
