The countdown is on for the start of the 2019-20 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season on October 3! The new EuroLeague season once again promises great matchups, week in and week out, but also more teams and games to enjoy than ever before in European club basketball. Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul vs. Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade

Unique former teammates

Zvezda forward Stratos Perperoglou and Fenerbahce guard Kostas Sloukas are two of just three active players with three EuroLeague titles for two different teams. They lifted it together with Olympiacos Piraeus in 2013. Perperoglou won with Panathinaikos in 2009 and 2011, while Sloukas did so with Olympiacos in 2012 and Fenerbahce in 2017.

ALBA Berlin vs. FC Barcelona

Familiar foe

ALBA head coach Aito Garcia Reneses spent much of his basketball career with Barcelona, serving as a player, assistant coach, head coach and general manager while winning the Saporta Cup, two Korac Cups, nine Spanish Leagues and four Spanish Cups with the club.

Familiar faces

ASVEL guard Antoine Diot spent the previous three seasons playing for Valencia. He won the 7DAYS EuroCup title with the club in the last of those.

Zenit guard Evgeny Voronov played for CSKA Moscow from 2011 to 2014 and finished his rookie season as a EuroLeague runner-up at the 2012 Final Four. He played alongside current CSKA stars Andrey Vorontsevich, Nikita Kurbanov and Kyle Hines.

Bayern guard Maodo Lo posted his career high in assists with 7 while playing against Baskonia for Brose Bamberg in October of 2017.

Nikola Milutinov collected a EuroLeague-high in rebounds last season with 18 against Panathinaikos in Round 16 last season. He added 18 points for a career-high performance index rating of 41 and was EuroLeague MVP of the Round.

Chacho hosts old friends

Milan playmaker Sergio Rodriguez played some of his best basketball as a Real Madrid player for six seasons between 2010 and 2016. He was the 2014 EuroLeague MVP and helped Real win the EuroLeague in 2015. El Chacho played under current Real head coach Pablo Laso and alongside Rudy Fernandez, Sergio Llull, Felipe Reyes, Jaycee Carroll, Trey Thompkins and Jeffery Taylor

Coach Kurtinaitis’s hometown

Khimki head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis was a Zalgiris superstar in the 1980s and played the EuroLeague final with the club in 1986.
