Zenit St Petersburg added size and experience to its roster by inking center Tarik Black for the remainder of the season, the club announced Thursday. Black (2.06 meters, 29 years old) last played for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, averaging 9.1 points on 61.8% two-point shooting and 4.8 rebounds in 11 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games in the 2019-20 campaign, which was cut short due to injury. Black started his professional basketball career with Houston and Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA, joining Maccabi in 2018. Black helped Maccabi win the Israeli League title in 2019. "My family and I are very happy with the success Zenit has already achieved this season. I feel that Coach Xavi Pascual's playing style suits me, I am ready to come to St Petersburg and contribute to the team's success as much as possible," Black said after the agreement. "I am also looking forward to the opportunity to get to know St Petersburg. All my attention is now directed to achieving the goals of the team and striving for great victories!"
